Head of the Olympic Committee of Russia Leonid Tyagachev hopes for a successful performance of the Russian national football team in Korea and Japan but considers the squad's play to be "unpredictable". Tyagachev said this in an interview given to journalists. Having expressed his dissatisfaction with the poor performance of the national team in the recent tournament in Moscow where the Russian squad took last place among four entrants, having lost on penalties first to future winner Belarus and then also to the Yugoslav team, Tyagachev stated this notwithstanding that "each player of our national team is individually strong, and I believe that the team will do well in Japan". "I think there must not be any disgrace," the head of the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation stressed.
