Pskov frontier guards hindered Latvian archaeologist from participation in seminar

Latvian scientist Gants Scutans has been hindered from participation in the international seminar “Archaelogy and History of Pskov and Pskov Lands,” where the 33-year-old Latvian intended to made a report. The question is the scientist did not manage to draw up documents necessary to cross Russian-Latvian border. Though, he wanted to participate in the forum so much, that in the early morning he illegally crossed a frontier section and, in the nearest village, got in a bus to the regional centre. To the scientist’s distress, in several minutes the bus was driven up by frontier guard cars. The trespasser archaeologist was detained.
