Belgian man accumulated one-meter dust layer within 14 years

Belgian court evicted a recluse from the apartment he rented. The man has not been cleaning up for 14 years, but the landlord could not evict him within the whole of the period, as the rent was always paid in time.

The apartment was de-energized in 1992. Then the recluse connected to the corridor illumination. When the man was deprived of this energy source, he managed to draw electric wires from the water heater.

The landlord says, he tried different methods of influence on the recluse. He talked to his parents, appealed to the municipal administration, police, but nobody could even make the man leave the apartment. The landlord says: “He is not a criminal. He is just a recluse.”

Finally, the landlord was lucky: the recluse stopped duly payments, thus, it became possible for the landlord to appeal to court for removal of the roomer.

When the landlord entered the apartment, he was shocked with what he saw: the floor was covered with a meter dust layer, food wastes, empty bottles and dirty rags. When the 40-year-old roomer heard the court decision, he packed his things in two suitcases and withdrew.
