The week of the Russian language and Russian education is opening on Monday at the Russian Science and Culture Centre in Ulan-Bator. Among its organizers is the mentioned Centre, branches of Russian higher educational establishments in Mongolia and schools in Ulan-Bator, where instruction is conducted in Russian. A scientific-practical conference "Russia and Mongolia at the turn of the 21st Century" will be held during the week for students. A round-table conference will also be held, at which the heads of the Ulan-Bator branches of the Moscow State Teacher Training University, the Moscow Power Institute, the Plekhanov Academy of National Economy, the Buryat State University, as well as the principals of schools and lyceums where special emphasis is laid on Russian language studies will discuss the problems and specificities of education in these establishments in Mongolia. During the week a children's festival of primary school pupils of Mongolian schools with instruction in Russian "We Speak Russian" will be held and Mongolian school-leavers will be made acquainted with Russian higher schools. An exhibition of teaching and methods literature for studies of the Russian language for foreigners has been opened at the Centre for the teachers of Mongolian schools.
