Italian was fined for thrown out cigarette end

Italian policemen saw a man throw a cigarette-stub out of the car window, ordered the man to stop and take the thing away from the highway. The poor man has been searching for the cigarette stub for three hours, but unsuccessfully. At that the area of about one kilometer has been closely examined. The stub was not found, it stayed at the roadside, that is considered to be environmental unfriendly. At the end, the policemen tempered justice with mercy and let the man go. Certainly the man had to pay a fine for environmental pollution.

The driver sent several complaints about illegal actions of the policemen to local media. Police, in its turn, confirmed the event had taken place, but no comments were done as for the event.

According to the Italian laws, it is prohibited to throw things out of car windows. In case of violations, a 10 euro fine is imposed upon infringers.
