A unique suit has been brought by a district court of the city of Ryazan. Local monarchists called to account local communists for an article as if denigrating last Russian emperor Nikolai II. Indignation of the Ryazan monarchy’s supporters was excited by the article in a local communist newspaper, devoted to the emperor and his family. The monarchists considered this article to be offensive for the emperor’s memory and demanded a refutation. The plaintiffs were mainly exasperated with the fact, that Nikolai was called “tippler.” Now, the article’s authors should either search for a 100-year-old medical certificate confirming their statement, or defend their view on history in some other way.
