Eddy Juntila has spent ten years in a bird nest as an ersatz husband for 3 big eagle females. This is a record of the kind. Though Eddy was not aiming for the Guiness book, but to save the rare bird which is on the verge of extinction in Philippines. Of course, it was not just a noble impulse, but the work paid for by the fund on Philippine eagle preservation. According to the wild nature’s friend, he sometimes returns home from his work with numerous grazes, while his wife looking at her husband says: “Poor Eddy! He has caught it from his other wives!” According to Juntil, courting an eagle female is the same thing as courting a woman, though instead of presents and flowers, he brings them twigs for building the nest. The eagle females are happy to get them. While later, after having warmed himself in the female’s confidence, he carries out an artificial insemination of the birds. Eddy spent many nights wriggling in the nest and often asked himself why he earns money in such an unusual way.
