On October 16 violinist Valery Klimov, a laureate of international contests and People's Artist of the USSR, is celebrating his 70th anniversary. He was raised in a family of musicians and took the first lessons from his father, conductor Alexander Klimov. As a student of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, Valery Klimov won many international awards at contests, including those in Berlin, Paris and Prague. In 1958 the musician won world renown: he became the winner at the Tchaikovsky 1st International Contest in Moscow. Klimov's performance is full of charm and sincerity.
