King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia have rounded off their state visit to Russia and taken a flight to Stockholm at the Murmansk airport. On Friday, while in Murmansk, the royal couple held a meeting with the Swedish business community working on the Cola Peninsula. Then the king and Foreign Minister Anna Lindh of Sweden held a news briefing on the premises of the Murmansk State Technical University discussing cooperation within the framework of the Barents-Euroarctic region and projects the region is implementing in association with Sweden. Following the briefing, Murmansk regional governor Yury Yevdokimov and Kari Marklund, Norrbotten County Governor, signed an agreement on cooperation in the economic, cultural and educational areas targeting 2001-2002.
