After it has been put in floating dock 50 in the Roslyakovo settlement, the hull of the wrecked Kursk nuclear submarine will undergo comprehensive dosimetric control. Igor Dygalo, Captain 1st Rank, aide to the Russian naval chief, reported on a set of measures intended for the wrecked sub. First, after the floating dock is unwatered, radiation monitoring data will be received from gages fixed on the Kursk hull. Second, radiation monitoring data will arrive from a floating dosimetric control station of the Northern Fleet, with dosimetric control specialists on board. Third, data from the dock, ship-repair factory and Roslyakovo will be summed up with the help of portable dosimetric control equipment. All information will be fed into the command post of the Northern Fleet and screened on an electronic panel in Roslyakovo, said Igor Dygalo.
