Italian Culture Minister Promises Vittorio Gusman Retrospective To Moscow's Film Lovers

A retrospective of films starring the outstanding Italian actor Vittorio Gusman will be arranged in Moscow before the end of this year, Culture Minister Giuliano Urbani of Italy told a Moscow press conference today. The minister also said that the La Scala orchestra's performances at the Bolshoi Theater are part of a large framework agreement signed between Russia and Italy in 1998. Tuesday night, Milan's musicians performed at the Bolshoi the Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi. Right before tonight's concert, the La Scala orchestra's chief conductor, Riccardo Muti, was presented, on President Vladimir Putin's instruction, with a Friendship Order for his achievement in the development and consolidation of Russo-Italian cultural ties.
