Conference "siberia At The Cross-roads Of World Religions" Opens In The University Of Novosibirsk

The inter-regional scientific and practical conference "Siberia at the Cross-Roads of the World Religions" opened in the State University of Novosibirsk (a regional administrative centre in West Siberia) on Monday. The conference is being held to honour the memory of Mikhail Rizhsky, professor of Bible studies at the State University of Novosibirsk. The 90th anniversary of his birth is marked in October. The aim of the conference is to represent historical, philosophical and sociological studies in the sphere of religious research of Siberian scholars and teachers, the university said. Several aspects are being discussed at the conference - history, philosophy and sociology of religion, sociology of religious institutes, biblical research and translations.
