Russian President Vladimir Putin has decreed the allocation of additional funds for the restoration of cultural monuments. The money will be allocated from the presidential reserve fund. One million roubles (U.S.$1=29.70 roubles) will go for the restoration of the 17th-18th century Icon of Our Lady of Iberia Monastery in the town of Valdai, near Novgorod (northwest Russia). Another four million roubles has been allocated for the restoration of the Tkhaba-Yerdy temple which is part of the Dzheirakh-Assin historical and architectural museum and nature reserve in the North Caucasian Republic of Ingushetia. Moscow's State Tretyakov Gallery has been allocated 1.14 million roubles.
