Slot-machines selling condoms installed in Amsterdam cabs

Starting from yesterday, taxi drivers in Amsterdam became pluralistically salesmen – they have to sell condoms. All the taxi divers in the city have been obliged to equip their cars with such slot-machines. The Netherlands is not the fist to resort to such a measure. In Norway, taxi drivers have already for half a year supply their clients those latex items - free of charge, at that. In New Zealand, taxi drivers give out free condoms within the framework of a programme for fighting AIDS and other venereal diseases. The campaign organizers believe that people feel more at ease asking for a condom from a taxi-diver when no one is watching, than buy it at the chemist’s or on the street, when everybody stands and stares.
