Moscow Government Lays Wreath At Tomb Of Unknown Soldier

Members of the Moscow government headed by Mayor Yury Luzhkov together with veterans of World War II have laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall and at the Monument of Georgy Zhukov, a famous Soviet commander. This was to mark the 60th anniversary of the military parade on Red Square in Moscow on November 7, 1941, when Russia was fighting Nazi Germany just outside Moscow. A celebratory march comprising 1,200 people has also taken place to mark the 60th anniversary of the historic parade on Red Square. Veterans of the Second World War, who arrived in Moscow from all parts of Russia, and representatives of younger generations, students of Moscow military schools, participated in the march.
