The site of the Russian Information Agency Novosti is found to be the best in the nomination Media in Internet on results of the fourth all-Russian competition Business Site-2001. The competition was organised by the company SibLine-Computer Networks and the Novosibirsk branch of the Open Society Institution /the Soros Foundation/ within the framework of the festival Internet-2001. It was held in Novosibirsk on November 20 through 22 and gathered the leading figures of the Russian-speaking Internet. The festival's public-relations director Sergei Dyachkov said the jury found RIA Novosti's site the best in the nomination Media in Internet for "the quality of performance, novelty and use of state-of-the-art technologies". The winner figurine and diploma will be passed to RIA Novosti very soon, said Dyachkov. The second place in the Media in Internet nomination is taken by the site of the national newspaper Izvestia, third by the women's weekly Cleo.
