Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and last President of the USSR and now the leader of the Joint Social Democratic Party, was admitted to a central Moscow clinic on Monday, reports the Gorbachev Fund press-service in a statement. A fund spokesperson said that Gorbachev felt unwell and during a scheduled medical examination, it was recommended that he be hospitalized. The press-service said that an exact diagnosis had not yet been made. However, it added, from "time to time" Gorbachev has checkups at the treatment centre of the Central Clinical Hospital.
