The press service of the Ministry for Press informed RIA Novosti that the management of the TV-6 channel requested the Russian Press Ministry to grant leading journalists and managers of the company "the right to become founders of the electronic TV-6 media and to establish a new mass media tool and a new legal entity". The press service of the Press Ministry reported that in the evening on Monday the Ministry received a letter from Pavel Korchagin, the TV-6 executive director, with the request to annul the existing broadcasting license prior to its expiration. The TV-6 management expressed hope that the positive decision taken on this issue "would allow regional partners within the TV-6 network which broadcast in many regions of Russia to avoid bankruptcies". According to the ruling of the Board of the Higher Arbitration Court, the process of liquidation of the company would be commenced in the nearest future. The Ministry's press service indicated that in connection with that "the TV-6 channel founded as an electronic mass media means by the "Moscow Independent Broadcasting Corporation" closed joint-stock company would inevitably cease to broadcast." The Korchagin's letter indicated that "taking into account interests of millions of TV viewers and striving to preserve a unique staff of journalists and TV programs producers, the Moscow Independent Broadcasting Corporation closed joint-stock company took the decision to cede the right to establish the TV-6 electronic media to leading journalists and managers of the company".
