A man carrying more than 2.5 kg of a powerful narcotic drug known as MDMA was arrested in St. Petersburg on Wednesday. According to police reports, the arrestee is an active member of an international criminal group and has dual Russian-Canadian citizenship.
The arrest was made by officers of the Russian interior ministry's Chief Department for Combating Drug Trafficking.
In all over the past 24 hours, according to the department's information, 113 large batches of narcotic substances were seized on the Russian territory. The drugs seized include 21 kg of marijuana, 18 kg of hashish and more than 1 kg of heroin.
