Ukraine: Men and women no longer sleep with each other
From now on, women who do not feel comfortable in close vicinity of unknown men can sleep quietly: both on upper and on lower compartments. Starting with 2002, the Kharkov-Kiev train 63/64 will be fitted with a sleeping-car to which tickets are being sold for men and women to different compartments. The tickets’ prices will be the same as for other cars.
According to passenger service of Ukrainian South Railway Office, this car was introduced specially for passengers who feel uncomfortable in so-called “mixed” compartments.
