Yevgeny Kafelnikov failed to qualify for a semi-final of a major tennis tournament in the capital of Qatar, Doha, with prize money of one million dollars. The Russian player, seeded as No.1 lost to Reiner Schutler from Germany (No.7) in the quarter-final 5-7, 4-6. Along with the German, Moroccan Yunes al-Aynaui, Czech Bogdan Ulirah and Spaniard Felix Mantilla will play in the semi-finals.
