Russian President Visits Severodvinsk-based Sevmash Plant

After visiting the nuclear-powered submarine Gepard, Tuesday, President Vladimir Putin went to the Sevmash plant based in Severodvinsk, on the White Sea coast. The Russian leader called on workshop 55 which built the Gepard. The president met with the workers and watched the manufacturing process. Workshop 55 is also known to have made the Kursk sub and most of the submarines adopted in the Russian Navy. Vladimir Putin then went to the local palace of culture for a ceremony of granting state awards and a meeting with Northern Fleet servicemen and Sevmash workers. Apart from that, whilst in Severodvinsk, the president is expected to meet with Arkhangelsk region Governor Anatoly Yefremov.
