Christina Aguilera received an award from GLAAD Media Awards, from the organization called The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The singer will have a shot to hold the award in her hands on April 26th, at the award show in Los Angeles.
The alliance of gays and lesbians decided to award the pop singer for her video to the song “Beautiful” from her latest CD entitled “Stripped.” Sexual minorities thanked Christina for presenting the positive image of gays and transsexuals in the video. Christina said that she was flattered to get such an award. She said that her song is about beauty, as well as about the fact that all humans are beautiful, not matter what sexual preferences they might have. Aguilera added that with that video she wanted to say that beauty has no framework.
GLAAD Media Awards are given to public personas and media organizations for providing correct, precise and unbiased images of sexual minorities’ lives.
