Russian Beats Czech in Third Round of Australian Open

Russian Mikhail Youzhny beat Czech Jiri Novak in the third round of the Australian Open tennis championships.

In a match 2 hours 4 minutes long, 25th seed Youzhny emerged victorious 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-2.

The game was 7th seed Novak and Youzhny's third match at an international competition. In previous two duels, the Czech had defeated the Russian.

In the fourth round of the Australian Open, Youzhny is set to play against 9th seed Andy Roddick of the United States, who won 6-2 6-3 6-2 against Spain's Fernando Vicente in the third round.
