Russia and the United States are going to resume their climate change dialogue. They have already agreed to set up a joint working group for the purpose, says Alexander Bedritsky, head of the Russian Hydro-Meteorological Center.
Through the dialogue, the sides hope to develop common approaches to related problems before bodies of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change are in session again, Bedritsky said at a press conference on the RIA Novosti premises Friday. According to the official, Russia and the States began cooperating in the area back in the 1970s. He said he was hopeful that the two nations' renewed efforts would help reduce human activity's destructive impact on the natural environment.
