Two postage stamps dedicated to famous Soviet scientists Igor Kurchatov and Anatoly Aleksandrov will be issued in Moscow on January 8th, the trade-publishing center "Marka" disclosed.
Three times under the supervision of Igor Kurchatov were created first samples of the Soviet nuclear and thermonuclear weapons and the first in Europe nuclear-powered reactor. Anatoly Aleksandrov worked in the sphere of the nuclear energy and construction of nuclear-powered reactors.
The circulation of each postage stamp is 250,000 copies. The Moscow Postal Service will held a memorable cancellation of the stamps by a special postmark on the day of the issue.
