An Italian store sold iPad Air tablets for just €15. Once the error was noticed, customers were asked to return the devices—but no one complied.
The promotion was valid only on November 8 and required a loyalty card. Many customers placed orders and successfully collected their iPads at MediaWorld stores.
Eleven days later, MediaWorld sent an email requesting the return of the iPads, labeling the price as an “obvious mistake.” The store offered two options:
Lawyers note that MediaWorld’s request has no legal force. Under Italian law, such a transaction can be declared invalid, but achieving this is very difficult.
