Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica at the international beauty pageant Miss Universe, fell from the stage just before the finale, reports People.
The accident occurred on November 19 during one of the pre-finale events. Walking in a long gown and high heels, Miss Jamaica approached the very edge of the stage and could not stop in time. She was carried out of the hall on a stretcher.
Henry was admitted to a hospital in Bangkok. Initial reports indicated she had not suffered serious injuries. Nevertheless, she missed the Miss Universe finale. Later updates revealed that her condition remained a concern, and she was placed in intensive care. Her sister stated that, according to doctors, Henry would likely remain hospitalized for at least a week.
On November 24, the Miss Universe organization confirmed that Henry was recovering well and would soon be discharged from the hospital.
"Over the past few days, the situation involved tense moments and unexpected concerns. Thanks to excellent medical care, all issues have been successfully addressed. Today, we are pleased to share the latest medical report confirming that Gabrielle Henry is completely healthy and will soon leave the hospital," Miss Universe Organization said.
