Two people were left badly bruised after being attacked by an Angora cat.
The incident took place in Novosibirsk, Siberia on Wednesday. According to the Novosibirsk Rescue Service, a two-year-old domestic cat attacked its masters, a woman and her daughter, who returned to their flat after a lengthy absence. The cat, who had been left home all alone, suddenly attacked them both, leaving them bitten and bruised. The woman was forced to summon a rescuer, who walked into the flat clad in a padded suit and caught the cat. The animal was then taken to a veterinary clinic, where it will be kept under surveillance for ten days.
Specialists say such things sometimes happen to domestic cats if they are left all alone for a long time. A cat that feels neglected may be more dangerous than a dog, they say.
