A participant in an atrocious murder of three Englishmen and a New Zealander, committed in 1998, has been arrested in Chechnya. The victims had been engaged in mounting cellular phone communication facilities, according to a contract with the local Chechentelecom firm, and they were kidnapped in Grozny in 1988. Two months later their heads were discovered near a highway in the western part of Chechnya.
Hussein Idiyev, Chief of Chechen Field Commander Arby Barayev's group HQ, was detained in the Naursky district, the north-west of Chechnya, the HQ of the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus informed RIA Novosti.
According to data obtained by the military, Idiyev was involved in tortures and murders of Russian servicemen, committed by Barayev's group. As to Barayev, he was liquidated during a Federal Forces' special operation last summer.
