International contest of young pop singers in Yurmala

The New Wave international contest of young pop singers is held in Yurmala.

There are duets and groups among the participants, which is not typical of such contests - duets Indre and Devidas (Lithuania) and Smash (Russia) and groups Discomafia and 2x2 (Russia). In addition, solo singers from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Israel, Spian, Russia and the USA participate in the New Wave contest.

On the first day of the contest young singers will present retro-hits of their countries.

A member of the jury, composer Vladimir Matetsky believes that Russian singers have a chance to win the contest. In general, he is satisfied with all the New Wave participants.

The winners will get 20,000 dollars for the first place, 15,000 - for the second and 10,000 - for the third. In addition, the winners will have informational support, said composer Igor Krutoi, a sponsor of the contest. "We have already achieved a relevant agreement with TV channels and the press. We shall try to give them a good start of the future career," Krutoi noted.
