Marat Safin Remains World's Third Tennis Player

Marat Safin from Russia, as before, ranks third in the rating list of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Safin is 113 points behind American Andre Agassi who is placed second with 554 points. Lleyton Hewitt from Australia has been the leader for a few weeks (690 points).

Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferero who became the winner of a representative tournament in Hong Kong the day before rose from fifth to fourth place, having scored 425 points.

Tim Henman from Great Britain ranks fifth (420 points).

The list of the ten best players includes also 6. Carlos Moya (Spain, 402 points), 7. Albert Costa (Spain, 393), 8. Tommy Haas (Germany, 388), 9. Endy Roddik (USA, 383) and 10. Roger Federer (Switzerland, 356 points).

Alongside Marat Safin, three other Russian players figure in the list of the world's 100 top players. They are 25. Yevgeny Kafelnikov (212 points), 39. Mikhail Yuzhny (149) and 97. Nikolai Davidenko (52).
