The largest in Europe extreme sports center was opened in the northeast of Moscow on Saturday, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov participated in the opening ceremony, RIA Novosti reports.
3.5 mln US dollars were allocated for construction works that lasted about two years.
The total area of the center is 7,000 square meters. The center comprises a rollerdrome with a total area of 1,080 square meters and a skatedrome with a total area of 2,000 square meters. Both rollerdrome and skatedrome are equipped according to up-to-date world trends. The equipment of the sporting facility make it possible to host international competitions on extreme sports.
Besides, the sporting center comprises a bar, a cafe, a restaurant and "Adrenaline" extreme sports equipment shop.
One hundred and two thousand athletes can train in the center at a time.
When speaking at the opening ceremony, The Moscow Mayor congratulated all citizens of the Northeast Administrative District of Moscow as well as all the Muscovites on the occasion.
