The police of the republic of Karelia investigate circumstances of the death of a woman, who died after she bit a police officer.
The tragedy occurred on August 10 in the city of Petrozavodsk, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the republican administration.
"The police were trying to find out why a group of citizens was staying in a public place while intoxicated," Olga Golubenko, the chief of the press service of the republican Investigative Committee said.
One of the women in the group attacked a police officer. The officer reached out his arm to protect himself, but the attacker bit him. Immediately thereafter, the woman stepped aside, collapsed and died.
"Investigation was filed into the death of the woman, as well as into the fact of her attack of the officer," Golubenko said. According to the official, the woman most likely suffered from a serious disease.
