On November 9-10, a series of concerts "Nord-Ost", we are with you!" will take place in the State Central Concert Hall "Russia".
According to the information provided by the musical press-service representative Darya Morgunova, those concerts were planned long time ago, but the tragic events around hostage-taking in the Theater Center building on Dubrovka during the performance of "Nord-Ost" forced the organizers to make serious changes in the program. "Now the tone, the content and the decorations of the concerts have changed drastically," she explained.
She said that initially the concerts were supposed to bear the spirit of celebration because October 19 was the first anniversary of the regular daily performances. The concerts were tentatively called "Nord-Ost" hosts world musicals". Now, the concerts will be dedicated to the memory of the victims and the revival of the show.
The last performance of "Nord-Ost" was interrupted on Wednesday, October 23, when the terrorists stormed the stage in the beginning of the second act. They started firing shots in the air and announced that the audience and the actors were taken hostage.
During the special forces hostage rescue operation conducted on Saturday, October 26, 750 people were released. As a result of the terrorist act, 119 people died. 50 terrorists were eliminated.
