Royal couple Prince William and Duchess Kate adopt baby penguin

Royal couple Prince William and Duchess Kate adopt baby penguin. 44276.jpegRoyal newlyweds William, 28, and Kate, 29, have adopted a baby penguin named Acorn, media reports said on Friday, a week after the couple's wedding in London.

The Humboldt penguin, whose species is endangered, was a gift from Britain's Chester Zoo to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William and Catherine Middleton will adopt Acorn for 12 months, the British news agency said, The Epoch Times reports.

Fortunately, the couple decided to let the little guy live in the zoo with the 49 other Humbolt penguins who reside there.

"Hopefully the happy couple will come and see little Acorn playing in his pool very soon," a spokesman for the zoo said. "It's a real honor to be able to boast Prince William and Kate as penguin adopters," Hollywood Life reports.
