IVF twins find their missing part - another sister - in 10 years

Ryleigh Shepherd was conceived in 1998, the same year as her 11-year-old twin sisters, but she wasn't born until 2010. The three girls from Walsall, in Great Britain, who were born more than a decade apart in two different centuries, are actually fraternal triplets born through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Ryleigh came from the same batch of embryos that had allowed her parents -- Lisa and Adrian Shepherd -- to give birth to twins Megan and Bethany.

British experts say they know of no other case in their country in which three siblings from the same round of fertility treatment have been born with such an age gap, according to ABC News.

Though, all the children have been conceived on the same day of the year and the newborn girl has been named Ryleigh. The other duos of the triplet, who are 11-years older to the new born, are Megan and Bethany.

It was in 1998, that the two proud parents, Lisa and Adrian Shepherd had to opt for fertility treatment after Lisa was diagnosed with endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. The duo decided to go for another child in December last year, and used the embryo that had been kept in refrigeration at a fertility clinic close to Birmingham.

Talking about the newborn baby girl, Lisa says that it was very thrilling to see hat Ryleigh looked like her elder sisters when they were born more than a decade ago. She adds that both Megan and Bethany were absolutely ecstatic to have a younger sister and that the baby had a humongous appetite, TopNews United States reports.
