To film "Alexander," which opens nationwide Wednesday, &to=http://english.pravda.ru/science/19/95/381/10321_castro.html' target=_blank>director Oliver Stone took his cue from the biopic's subject, Alexander the Great, and set out to conquer several locations around the world.
To mount the $150 million-plus production, Stone traveled from Morocco to England to Thailand in 94 days of shooting, imported horses from Spain and Germany to supplement those he found in Morocco and Thailand and employed an army of thousands of extras, informs Reuters.
According to BBC, it is the story of one of history's most celebrated leaders - a relentless and arrogant warrior who conquered much of the known world by the age of 25.
"For me it's an adventure ride such as has never been experienced before," says Stone.
