The St. Petersburg Hermitage will take part in the exhibition of the works by famous Italian sculptor Antonio Canova to be opened on Friday in the ethnographic museum of Bassano di Grappa, Italy.
The Hermitage will show seven Canova's statues from its collection, including his "Cupid and Psyche", reported the press service of the Italian culture ministry.
According to a staff worker of the ministry, the Hermitage has one of the richest collections of Canova's works, and the exhibition's organizers are grateful to the Russian museum for its contribution to holding the exhibition.
The Canova's works from the collections of other well-known museums will also be shown: the Ufizzi museum in Florence, the Rome Capitol museums, and fine arts museums of Vienna and Oxford.
