The second day of the festival of Russian art in Cannes will open with the European premier of a documentary about Alexander Solzhenitsyn, press secretary of the Russian Culture Foundation Olga Lashneva said on Thursday.
Sergei Miroshnichenko's film "Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Life without Lie" is timed to the 85th anniversary of the writer, she said.
The film includes the writer's video shot by the director in 2001 and episodes shot by foreign cinematographers in different years.
"The director and writer have much in common in their understanding of life," Lashneva noted.
