International music festival to open in Peterhof tomorrow

The 4th international Music of the fountains - music of Peterhof festival is to open in Peterhof tomorrow. The festival, which runs until July 20, is devoted to St. Petersburg's 300th anniversary.

The festival will include performances by groups and solo artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow, the US, Korea, Turkey, Switzerland and Finland. All the musicians taking part are making a charitable contribution to resurrecting Peterhof's cultural traditions. The aim of the festival is a return to the traditions of the 19th and early 20th centuries, when St. Petersburg's musical and theatrical life would move to Peterhof for the summer season. The complex's parks would host free concerts and performances every day by the best musicians at the imperial court.

The festival is being organised by the Peterhof State Museum, the St. Petersburg Association for International Cooperation, the Friends of Switzerland association and the Russian Versailles charitable foundation.
