Russian President Vladimir Putin conducted a meeting with heads of leading musical bands in the Bolshoi Theatre on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Russian president recalled that his decree on state support of musical art had been introduced on January 1, 2003. In accordance with the decree 7 leading musical bands have already received art supporting grants.
The Russian president stressed that "he would like to know whether the decree is being implemented in deeds and not in words. To sign a decree is one thing, and to implement it is completely different," he added.
"A lot of people turn up who are eager to build, destroy and then repair. But these means are meant for those who are directly involved in art."
