The largest American retailer and pharmacy chain on the East Coast, Rite Aid, is going to open walk-in clinics inside four RiteAid stores in Washington and Baltimore.
The idea will be implemented with the help of MedStar Health, that has already signed a deal with the drugstore chain. MedStar will provide RiteAid walk-in clinics with doctors.
MedStar Health is a $2.9 billion non-profit healthcare organization, that operates 25 businesses, including seven hospitals in the Baltimore-Washington region of the United States. As the area's largest health system, it is one of its largest employers, with more than 23,000 employees and 4,600 affiliated physicians.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
