Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) ha acquired last week Komoku Inc., a provider of advanced rootkit security detection solutions. The terms of the deal were not revealed.
This amalgamation will help Microsoft to resolve all the problems concerning worms, spyware, and Trojans and especially rootkits.
The solution is Komoku’s CoPilot, a PCI card that monitors a computer and works independently of the operating system to provide hardware-based, real-time rootkit detection.
Komoku is a veteran owned and operated small business developing high technology and services for customers. Komoku was formed in 2004 and is privately held and self-funded.
Komoku will provide Microsoft with functional solutions in the upcoming versions of the Forefront line of enterprise security products and Windows Live OneCare, Microsoft’s all-in-one PC care solution.
