Oil production increased 7.7 percent to 37.3m tons in September 2004 in comparison to September 2003, the Federal Statistics Service reported. The production of associated gas gained 5.3 percent to 3.4bn cubic meters. Oil production lost 2.7 percent in the reported period compared to August 2004, whereas associate gas production advanced 3.7 percent. Crude oil processing increased 3.7 percent to 16.4m tons. Gasoline production surged 4.2 percent to 2.5m tons, production of diesel fuel gained 1.4 percent to 4.5m tons.
The volume of oil production, including gas condensate, amounted to 341m tons in Russia in January to September 2004, which was a 9.6-percent advance against the corresponding period in 2003. Crude oil processing advanced 1.7 percent to 144m tons. Production of gasoline stepped up 2.8 percent to 22.3m tons, production of diesel fuel advanced 1.3 percent to 40.6m tons.
