Shareholders in Sakhalin Energy, an operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, proposed to the Korean gas corporation KOGAS to join the shareholding structure of the Sakhalin-2 project. Sakhalin Energy Deputy General Director Viktor Snegir made a corresponding statement at a meeting between business circles of Russia and Korea held within the framework of a visit of the South Korean President to Russia. According to him, within the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project, Sakhalin Energy is planning to supply liquefied natural gas, whose production will start in 2007. In this connection, the company has submitted its application to take part in a tender on supplying liquefied natural gas to South Korea.
