Schools will be reopened in Beslan (North Ossetia) today. A source in the Education Department in Beslan told RBC that a special commission had already checked all schools to find out whether they are adequately protected against terrorist attacks. There will be two police officers on duty at every school in the town, beginning today, to guarantee the security of the schoolchildren.
All schools in North Ossetia had been closed since the seizure of one of the schools in Beslan by terrorists on September 1. Schools in North Ossetia outside Beslan were reopened on September 13. Earlier it was planned that schools in Beslan would not be reopened until September 15.
