The cortege of Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania was fired upon on a gorge road in South Ossetia, Imedi television reported. The Prime Minister was on his way to a Georgian village that was shelled on August 12. The Georgian Prime Minister was not hurt in the incident. According to information from the television channel, vehicles on this road are still being fired upon.
As reported earlier, Zhvania arrived in South Ossetia yesterday to meet with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity. The sides of the conflict are holding talks now, but the time and place of the upcoming meeting have not been disclosed.
