After the administrative reform the Marine Board under the Russian government is to become an effective instrument of the national marine policy, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said at the 6th session of the Marine Board in Arkhangelsk (Russian port on the White Sea, the North-western Federal District) on Friday.
"The Marine Board has proved to be an efficient and perspective body," Mr. Fradkov stressed.
According to him, reports on the implementation of national marine policy in the Arctic region, preservation of the fleet of ice-breakers, security problems, development of continental shelves and the use of the North Sea Route will be delivered on Friday.
Moreover, the Marine Board will consider shipbuilding, maintenance of all fleets, and functioning of the global marine communication system in an emergency.
