Guta Bank resumes operations starting July 12

Guta Bank has announced it would start serving customers beginning July 12, 2004. The corresponding announcements are seen on the doors of the bank's offices. Guta bank shareholders and its management are doing their best to raise more funds to stabilize the bank's activities, meet the demands of the bank's customers and resume a normal course of business.

There is no official data on the recent negotiations between the management of Guta Bank and the Russian Central Bank. However, Central Bank Chairman Sergey Ignatyev announced that Vneshtorgbank was negotiating to buy Guta Bank's assets. According to him, the Central Bank might provide Vneshtorgbank with a loan for this deal.
